Membership Benefits

Thank you for your interest in the Spring Hill Chamber of Commerce.

As the chamber marks the start of a new century, we would like to invite you to join us in our efforts to make a difference in the Spring Hill community. For most businesses, dues to our organization are $150 per year. Members who take advantage of the chamber’s marketing benefits can easily recoup that expense.

Members businesses oftentimes off their peers special discounts. Current discounts are listed here.

Benefits offered by the Chamber of Commerce include:

  • A bulk mail permit allows members to reduce their postage expenses on mailings of 200 pieces or more. Click here for additional information.
  • A community Internet web page, www.springhillks.org, features a listing of the chamber’s members. Links are provided for members who have e-mail or web page connections.
  • Annually, about 5,000 city maps are distributed. A business listing in 5,000 city maps including 3,500 city maps mailed directly to Spring Hill homes. The maps include a categorical listing of the chamber's members and a phone number.
  • Businesses are recognized and provided networking opportunities during Open Houses, Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies and First Friday Donuts.
  • Membership directories are distributed throughout the community and to each chamber member. These directories include a detailed listing of services available.
  • About 600 welcome packets are given to new residents each year. Member businesses are allowed to contribute promotional items that are delivered to the new resident's door.
  • Business-to-business marketing opportunities through referrals and direct marketing.
  • About 100 contacts are made with businesses considering the Spring Hill area a prospective location for their businesses. In addition, employees of companies that have already committed to constructing their facility in a neighboring community receive information on the area’s housing market and existing businesses.
  • There are about 500 requests for information handled by the chamber each year. These include persons attempting to locate a business or service and potential new residents.
  • A booth at community events, such as the Spring Hill Festival, allows member businesses an opportunity to distribute their promotional materials.

The chamber's members believe that their mission statement outlines our role in the community -- "A voice that promotes planned economic growth by linking people in business, government and the community."

A volunteer organization, the chamber was founded in March of 1991. The office has a part-time staff person who is assisted by volunteers. They are in the office each afternoon. By having a community-based team, the chamber has been able to establish partnerships with resources throughout the state. They include:

  • During the chamber's general membership meetings or at special times, programs on issues such as marketing, legislative mandates and resources for businesses are planned.
  • At election time or during the legislative session, candidate and legislative forums are planned. These are open to members and the general public. Each spring, a delegation takes lunch to the community's legislative representatives in Topeka.

  • Information on and access to state programs and private foundations is maintained.

Many business owners have found that membership in the chamber has provided them representation on local issues and planning concerns. Other efforts include:

  • The chamber participates in annual joint meetings with the school board and city council. These meetings allow the organizations to pool their resources and ideas.
  • Because many of the community's businesses are owned or operated by persons living outside the city limits, the chamber provides a voice on city issues.
  • Members of the school board, city council, state elected officials, county elected officials and their staff persons attend chamber meetings providing opportunities for direct input.
